Monday Series: Falling Into Place
In the last few weeks, I haven't had much to report. I see this as a good thing. It means I'm slowly falling into some kind of a rhythm. Most of the projects I'm currently working on are very solidly resting in the "middle"—I'm far enough in where things are becoming a little more predictable and far enough away from the end that I'm not pushing to completion. So the days tend to look a little similar to one another. Once upon a time, this would have bothered me. These days, I find comfort in it.
The tarot project has really only seen daily card pulls over the last week. Things with my primary design contract job are getting fairly heavy ahead of a large milestone so more and more of my time has been devoted to that. (Sneak peek in the hero image of this post.) I'll have more to share later when we launch.
In the meantime, I'm doing what I can. There are about 200 other things I'd love to have finished for my shop, future projects, etc, but they'll get done when they get done—or they won't. And really, that's all fine. I'm trying to be a little better about staying flexible. There is a strange, slightly invisible line that runs between "rigid enough for discipline" and "flexible enough to endure unexpected changes." I'll let you know when I locate it. If you find it first, please tell me.
I'm not going to make any promises about the tarot project this week. I'd love to tell you that I'll have time or energy to work on the frames and move past that milestone but I'm not sure if I will. So let's say that I'd "prefer" to get to that point this week. In the meantime, I'm going to keep exercising, keep showing up to my desk every day, keep knocking things off the list, and keep trying to eat some healthy stuff here and there, haha.
Stay cool, stay safe, and I'll talk to you next week!
