Monday Series: A Story About Procrastination
Today's post is going to be a quick one! I've violently procrastinated on this June contest piece and now I'm down to the wire. So I'm going to pop in for a few quick updates and get back to you with a deeper analysis on this next week.
Education Updates
I'm halfway through Brené with Austin Channing Brown on I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness and I would highly recommend it already. Brené Brown's podcast continues to be a favorite of mine. This conversation is excellent.
Productivity Updates
I'm slipping. Even though I try to create priorities at the beginning of each week, I haven't been treating all of them like priorities. That, and there are still too many. I prioritize exercise and business-y kinds of things. I do not prioritize art. This is something I need to unpack. I have to get over this artistic paralysis if I intend to do this full time.
The June Contest
MAN! This one has kicked my ass. I knew it would be hard, I knew I would have a tough time coming up with an idea, and I knew I would struggle with feeling confident enough about it to get it done. Mercifully, I picked up a bit of momentum last night and worked pretty aggressively until about 1am. I'm tired today but I feel like there is a good chance I'll finish it. Tonight will probably be another long night. I want to make sure that I set aside at least a small amount of time for exercise and food prep today but I have to start working on this thing before 9 or 10; otherwise, I'm going to be up forever and/or so overwhelmed that I freeze up.
BIG. SOB. EMOJI.
I'll let you know how it went next week.
